Ten Books For Readers Who Like Finding new Authors!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish

So we wanted to talk about some debut authors this week – I used to do a better job of tracking the books I read by debut authors, but I don’t know what happened!

Anyway, this week we’re hoping to highlight some of our newest favorites… not just upcoming either! Authors we found last year, new authors we’ve read this year, and then the titles we’re excited to read coming up yet in 2015!!

The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel – We’re Team Bishop all the way! We absolutely loved this story!! We can’t wait for The Revolution of Ivy to arrive!! Read The Review

Swimming to Tokyo by Brenda St. John Brown – You guys – I adored this story so, so much! The characters… the story… the setting! If you haven’t read this grab it asap! Read The Review

Trouble by Non Pratt – this was my big surprise last year – I went in not knowing what to expect, because who does with a debut author, but I found myself just entranced with the writing and the story and I’m excited for Non’s next book! Read The Review

Loop by Karen Akins – We love time travel stories and when I saw a few trusted bloggers talking about their love for this one, we knew we had to give it a try! Definitely loved the action and twists and are excited for book 2! Read The Review

The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury – THIS BOOK YOU GUYS! It’s out now, so you have no excuse for not owning it and reading it over and over and over. Read The Review

The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard – We absolutely fell in love with Aveyard’s writing and are both very excited for what’s coming in the rest of this series!

My Best Everything by Sarah Tomp – This is going to be on my best of list at the end of the year, I guarantee it. I was caught off guard by how much I adored this story and the way it was told. It’s out now, so buy it and read it and love it! Read The Review

My Heart & Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga – We are excited for whatever Jasmine has coming next. I found myself captivated by Warga’s storytelling – And her characters were so layered and complex. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! Read The Review

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir – This needs to be on everyone’s list this year and I do not say that lightly. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished and even now I want to re-read it just so I can go through all the ups and downs again – and there are so many!!

The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey – PUT THIS ON YOUR TO BE READ NOW! That’s pretty much the only thing I can tell you. I finished this book in a day because once I started it I couldn’t put it down. You’re going to want to own it!

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli – I fell in love with Simon you guys – and Albertalli tells such a fun and wonderful story in this book. Definitely should be among the most anticipated debuts for everyone if you ask me!

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera – So on a personal level we adore Adam Silvera and his dislike for LOL’s but we’re so damn excited for his debut title coming it’s not even funny – even though there’s a ginormous smiley face on the cover. Make sure you get this one on your TBR list, like yesterday, and read it as soon as you possibly are able to!
