Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
We’re going to give you a mix of the two topics this week because … well, we can. Â Amazingly out of all the dystopian books that we read, there aren’t many that we absolutely wouldn’t want to live in… i.e. worlds where the swoony boys don’t make up for the shitty life we’d probably have. (don’t judge us)
Let’s start with the worlds we wouldn’t want to live in:
Not a Drop to Drink – The fact that there is limited water would be a big issue for us – we drink a lot of water in our house. Â
The End Games – Zombies. Â That is all.Â
Unwind – Just the idea that if you are unhappy with your children you could make the decision to unwind them is something that unnerves me.Â
The Chemical Garden – A world where females only live to 20 and males live to 25 is one thing. Â Add to that the fact that there are orphans are overtaking the population, crime and poverty are everywhere and girls are being kidnapped to bear children…I would never want to live in this world.
Hunger Games – I would die first. Â No question. A lottery that could put you in a game where you fight to the death to be a lone survivor….Do I have to say anything more?
Article 5 – Moral statutes drive the world. Â The military enforces the statutes and no one is safe if caught breaking any of the statutes. Â
Dualed – Ok, you have to eliminate your genetic alternate twin…*stares at twin sister*
How about some characters we’d never want to trade places with…
Cady in We Were Liars – Her whole situation … just no.Â
Brooke in UTNS/TTEN/ITSB… I mean, she loses Perry. I would be sad forever if I were her.
Charlaina from The Pledge Series – Way too much pressure and not enough kissing time with Max to make up for it.
So… let us know your choices in the comments!!Â
