ALA Wrap Up & Awesome Giveaway!

Hey Everyone! If you follow us on Twitter (and you should) you may have seen that we were down in Chicago this past weekend to attend ALA 2013. Normally nothing comes around here, so we decided to jump at the chance to go and we’re so happy we did!!

The convention actually started for us on Friday night and it was crazy!!

We had never been to ALA and our lovely guides from BEA (Kassiah & Meg) were not with us for this one, but we did really well… I think!

While ALA had scheduled signings it was a bit different than BEA. For one, the signings were in the booth, which made getting around the convention center floor a pain in the ass. There seemed to be lines everywhere!!

But we did get to meet quite a few authors that we love… Jojo Moyes, Jennifer Armentrout, Tracey Garvis-Graves, Holly Black, Alexandra Bracken and we even met some new to us authors!!

This fan was probably the best thing I got all weekend… LOL It was hot in there!!

We actually had a great time meeting the different contacts at the publishers and checking out the books that are coming out in the near future. I think we walked away with some new and wonderful contacts and we had a really great time!! PLUS – we (me and the people I was with) had the most popular item on the convention center floor – I’m convinced of this. Believe me … I’m not exaggerating when I say that we were stopped probably 120 times asking where we got our amazing Pretty Girls Read Books canvas bags! Everyone wanted one!!

But as with anything it must come to an end, and we headed home on Friday… my car was packed to the ceiling (hey there were three girls in it!!) and we are incredibly excited to start reading some of the amazing titles we got!

We got our hands on an ARC copy of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell… It doesn’t come out until September, but we’ll be giving it to you before then! In fact we’re going to make this a two book giveaway by including one of our other favorite books from this year as well… Eleanor & Park!
