An all-new Stormlight Archive novella will be the crown jewel of Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection, the first book of short fiction by #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson.
The collection will include eight works in all. The first seven are:
“The Hope of Elantris” (Elantris)
“The Eleventh Metal” (Mistborn)
“The Emperor's Soul” (Elantris)
“Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania, Epsiodes 28 through 30” (Mistborn)
“Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell” (Threnody)
“Sixth of Dusk” (First of the Sun)
“Mistborn: Secret History” (Mistborn)
Originally published on Tor.com and other websites, or published by the author, these wonderful tales convey the expanse of the Shardworlds and tell exciting tales of adventure Sanderson fans have come to expect, including the Hugo Award-winning novella, “The Emperor's Soul.”
Arcanum Unbounded will also contain a currently untitled Stormlight Archive novella which will appear in this book for the first time anywhere.
I’m going to apologize right away because I’m a slacker – So I have had the Mistborn series on my TBR list for ages and I have heard such amazing things about the books but for some reason just haven’t dived into them… but after reading a few of the novellas in Arcanum Unbound I am incredibly excited to do so as soon as possible!
I figured reading some of these novellas would give me a kickstart to diving into The Cosmere series and I wasn’t wrong… The few stories that I did read were incredible. The Emperor’s Soul and Sixth of Dusk were two that I felt I could read without any kind of spoiling of the original stories so I devoured and completely loved those two! I am excited for some time off at the end of the year where I’m hoping to read the series and then finish the rest of these novellas… unless someone tells me that I can read them all without any issue!
I did skim through the book and I have to tell you that the illustrations and the end papers are amazing! If you are a fan of Brandon Sanderson this is a must have for your collection! I for one can’t wait to read the rest of these stories!
