Thursday night was the #YAPARTY and you guys the authors we got to meet and hang out with were all amazing – Our highlight though – FINALLY meeting Marie Rutkoski.  We were determined to make this happen and a little birdie told me that she had RSVP’d yes and so we just had to bring our The Winner’s Curse books along just in case! Authors like Jennifer Armentrout, Erica Cameron, Rebecca Serle, Susane Colasanti, Ryan Graudin, Adam Silvera & Amy Plum just to name a few.
Friday: Friday was all about Jandy Nelson for me… And Sarah J. Maas. It was Sophie’s Choice because for some reason someone scheduled them for the exact same time. Â Talk about fail. Â But I had to go meet Jandy because omg The Sky Is Everywhere is probably my most favorite book ever. Â While we were hovering around the Penguin booth Marie Lu was signing and we actually got to get a signed sampler of her upcoming (which I can’t wait for) The Young Elites. Â And then JANDY happened!!Â
After that I was able to get back in line for Heir of Fire with Erin where apparently the other half of the BEA attendee’s were sitting. The line was crazy but Sarah was amazing and gorgeous as usual! Â It was lovely to see her again and as I type this, both Erin and I have already finished HoF – it was our first read from the stacks we brought back and holy crap you guys … I hope you’re reading the series. Â That is all. Â
We also met Martina Boone & Rachel Harris as well as made it to a couple planned galley drops along the way. Â
Saturday: AKA HELL — yes I’m sticking with this as a descriptor. Â I had plans for Saturday… almost none of which happened. Â I had to stand in line for The Return and see Jennifer Armentrout one more time. Â I had planned on getting into the Harlequin Teen line… but that didn’t happen. Â The whole bookcon thing was a horrible mess. Â I did end up making it to one Little Brown galley drop but other than seeing Jennifer the day was pretty much not what we expected. Â We did get this picture with Jennifer Armentrout – also Cassandra Clare & Holly Black unofficially included! Â
We decided to check out one of the BookCon events – Jason Segel. Â I honestly have a bit of a crush on this guy after listening to him talk and I can’t wait to check out his middle grade book coming called Nightmares.Â
