I’m so incredibly excited to have the opportunity to share something amazing with you guys! If you saw my review a while back for Summer of Supernovas by Darcy Woods, then you know that I absolutely adored it… but best of all, I got the opportunity to meet Darcy a few weeks back and just saying she’s so lovely would be a huge understatement. Â Of course when she asked me if I would like to reveal her German cover I jumped at the chance to share it with you guys here. Â First, here’s a little about the book…

Fans of Jennifer E. Smith and Jenny Han will fall in love with this heartfelt and humor-laced debut following one girl’s race to find the guy of her cosmic dreams.
When zodiac-obsessed teen Wilamena Carlisle discovers a planetary alignment that won’t repeat for a decade, she’s forced to tackle her greatest astrological fear: The Fifth House—relationships and love.
But when Wil falls for a sensitive guitar player hailing from the wrong side of the astrology chart, she must decide whether a cosmically doomed love is worth rejecting her dead mother’s legacy and the very system she’s faithfully followed through a lifetime of unfailing belief.
Germany holds a very special place in my heart. Having lived there for almost two and a half years, I’ve come to think of it as my second home. And I love everything about Deutschland–the people, the beer, the brotchen (German rolls)–it’s a land that feeds my body and spirit. Which made the email that appeared in my inbox on April 8th of last year especially meaningful. Because one of the largest and oldest publishers in Germany had made a preemptive offer! AND I UGLY CRIED. It was hysterical and undignified, but most of all, it was honest. When a country you love so dearly falls in love with something you’ve created–it’s the greatest gift imaginable.
I have just adored the team at Fischer and the care they’ve put into Zwischen dir und mir die
Sterne! Translated title: Between You and Me the Stars–isn’t that lovely?! And what better companion to a lovely title than a gorgeous cover? Oh, you guys! I’m completely smitten with this dreamy image and the thoughtful details. I hope you enjoy it too!
Liebe und sterne,
(Love and stars,)

I couldn’t let Darcy get away without asking her a few questions!
It’s here! Summer of Supernovas is out in the world now… how do you feel?
When you finally actualize a dream that for YEARS felt hopelessly out of reach? It feels pretty effing huge. Like the emotions are simply too big for your body to hold. I AM FIREWORKS IN A THIN VEIL OF HUMAN FLESH!!! That’s really the best metaphor I can give it.
Since the release, what has been the most unexpected part of the process for you?Â
Definitely the kaleidoscope of emotions that follow letting go. Because even though you’ve walked tens of thousands of words with these characters, laughed with them, cried with them…they are no longer yours alone. This story now belongs to the readers, who will experience it through their own life lens. And speaking of reader ownership, I recently had a teen send me a pic of her new Converse shoes. She wanted to know where Grant had the duct tape on his Chucks so she could wear hers the same. Oh my heart! I about died of cute!
What has been the most exciting part of a book release?
On the eve of my launch, I was so excited I barely slept. My feet were doing a maniacal windshield wiper movement (except with the wiper blades continually colliding) under the blankets. Which also made it hard for the husband to sleep. But I couldn’t help it. It was like every single Christmas morning and birthday bundled up into one momentous day! Now the excitement comes in surprising bursts–it might be a picture someone has taken of the book, a drawing they’ve sketched, or a phrase as simple as, “Your book was just the escape I needed.” The excitement, the joy, for me it’s in all those connections.
Looking forward, what’s coming next for you?Â
Well, I’ve nearly completed my next novel–a companion to SUMMER OF SUPERNOVAS. This story explores broken hearts, both literal and metaphorical, and there’s tea leaf reading. 🙂 Also on the horizon, SOS will be releasing July 5th in Italy from Mondadori! It’s titled Girano le Stelle, which translates to Turning Stars. Eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the cover on this one! No doubt I’ll amore it with the same passion I have for gelato. 😉
