Day 13 Book Blogger Challenge – Describe One Under Appreciated Book EVERYONE Should Read

The 15 day book blogging challenge, which is hosted over at goodbooksandgoodwine, asks us to describe one under appreciated book EVERYONE should read. We are going to cheat a little bit only because we both want to tell you about one and then when we thought about it, we both decided to pick a series….that’s just how we roll.

My pick is the Gone with the Respiration series by Lia Habel. Here is what part of the summary says about book one:

In Dearly, Departed, romance meets walking-dead thriller, spawning a madly imaginative novel of rip-roaring adventure, spine-tingling suspense, and macabre comedy that forever redefines the concept of undying love.

This series has an original plot and some great characters. On top of that, it kept me turning the pages just to see what would happen next.

I mean, if you love ya romance, steampunk, and zombies….this is the series for you. I myself am looking forward to when book three comes out as I love Nora and Bram and I really want to know how the rest of their story goes.

Jaime’s Pick
In 2015, a race of alien Others conquered Earth. They enslaved humanity not by force, but through an aggressive mind control that turned people into contented, unquestioning robots.

My pick isn’t one book, instead it’s a completed series! These books shot to the top of my favorites fairly quickly once I started reading them. The plot is so incredibly original and the writing is just so well done that I’ve been telling everyone about them.

Don’t let that word ‘alien’ scare you away, because Trisha Leigh isn’t giving you green, weird looking aliens in this story, and in the land of dystopian series books, The Last Year series stands out to me because of how amazingly well written it is.

The characters totally jumped off the page for me, and I found myself cheering for Althea, and Lucas and Pax… and well, I’m going to stop right there. I don’t want to spill any details.

Go do yourself a favor and get these books today – the series is complete and I think you’re going to love it as much as I did!
