Cole Talent never had to go looking for trouble. It always had a way of finding him. After his father’s arrest, the family money is gone, their name is in the mud, and both of Cole’s sisters, Elaina and Marsella, are missing. In search of answers, Cole leaves Reno for the last place he heard from Marsella—Ambrose, Ohio—and instead finds MacKenzie Sharp, the beautiful owner of the diner where Marsella once worked.
But others have followed Cole from Reno, intent on bringing the family down for good. When MacKenzie gets caught in the crossfire, the only chance she has at safety is to go into hiding with the one man who put her in danger. From Reno to Ohio and now Vegas, trouble keeps finding Cole. But with MacKenzie in danger, it’s time to stop running and face it head on.
If you haven’t read anything by Sierra Kincade yet, you seriously need to change that immediately.
Kincade has quickly become one of my go to authors for emotionally filled, sexy, swoony reads and I’ve been waiting for book 2 in the Deep Connection series for way too long.
Cole has spent the last two years since Marsella left and his father was arrested trying to keep the restaurant that should have gone to Marsella afloat. He’s never given up on trying to locate Marsella though, and as luck would have it, using facial recognition software, he has finally found someone who looks like her in Ambrose, Ohio.
Determined not to lose her again, he leaves Reno for Ambrose and ends up at the doorstep of MacKenzie Sharp, owner of the diner where Marsella worked and in the crosshairs of some of his father’s past acquaintances. The only way to keep he and Kenzie safe is to get out of Ambrose and hide her back in Reno… but the people in Cole’s life aren’t exactly who they seem, and heading to Reno may lead to more trouble than either could have expected.
Girls… I’m claiming Cole Talent right now. I don’t even care what MacKenzie has to say about it.
He just might be the swooniest guy Kincade has written and that’s saying a lot (because Alec)! A. He’s as blind as I am without glasses … yes he wears black framed glasses, and B. he’s super sexy but slightly awkward and that ALWAYS works for me. I just loved every second with him on the page.
Kincade does a great job of building the overarching storyline with these books (just like she did with her Bodyworks Trilogy) and once I turned the last page of this story, I was dying for the next book (do you hear me Sierra – I NEED IT!). This installment of course is filled with action and suspense, and some amazingly sexy and swoony moments.
The relationship development between Cole and Kenzie was wonderfully done, and it was so amazing to get glimpses of Marsella and Jake along the way. I’m so intrigued by Elaina and her story and she was so badass in this that I can’t even imagine what might be coming in book 3!
With an ending that will have you on the edge of your seat and begging for more, this is a series that you just can’t miss. If you haven’t started I highly recommend it, and I’ll just be over here impatiently waiting for book 3.
Thank you to the publisher for an early copy in exchange for my honest thoughts!
