Happy Birthday To Us!! We’re Two!!

It kind of snuck up on me this year that we’re turning two!! It’s been a busy year for us so far and we’re so glad you’re here and have been following and supporting us along the way!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we started some new features this year!

Flashback Friday – where we highlight some of our pre-blogging favorite books! It’s been fun getting the chance to talk up some of the books that we loved back when they were first out! We post a linky each week so if you want to participate we’d love to have you!

Spotlight Sunday – where we talk about all things bookish that might be on our minds – we get to do this with our blogging bff’s over at Swoony Boys Podcast so it’s always fun!

And of course our Real Book Challenge that we’re so glad everyone has signed up for! If you haven’t yet, you still can join in whenever! We do a monthly ‘real book’ giveaway and it’s fun to see what real books everyone is picking up!

Aside from our new stuff, we’ve had an amazing year! We’ve read tons of incredible books, met tons of amazing authors and just generally have enjoyed getting to know everyone in the book community!

It’s hard to belive that just one year ago, it was just me doing all this stuff here – Thankfully I’ve gotten some help since then in the form of two lovely people – Erin and Cosmo!! Make sure you’re following them and say hi!

Things I’ve learned over the past year…

**You are not required to post something every single day. I think when I started out I felt like I wouldn’t be taken seriously if I didn’t have something going up each day. This is just not true and I think I stressed myself out a bit with that idea. Around here, we take the weekends off … maybe you’ve noticed LOL.

**You don’t need to request every single ARC in existence. My resolution for this year was to limit myself in the ARC department because I still have stuff on my reader that I haven’t gotten to and I feel bad. Plus, I wanted to start working in books that I’ve purchased that I just haven’t gotten to, so while it’s awesome to read books early, I also think I disappointed myself a bit last year in not reading books that I really wanted to because I just ran out of time.

**Do your own thing!! Don’t let other people try and tell you the right way or wrong way to do something. You may have seen a post last month where I was wondering how other bloggers did things… well, the response I got was overwhelmingly inconclusive. Everyone does things the way it’s comfortable for them and that’s exactly how it should be.

**I really need to get back to commenting on other blogs. This was also a resolution for this year and I find that I go in bursts which sucks, because I want all you other bloggers out there to know I’m reading your posts, but sometimes I can’t comment when I’m reading. Obviously I’m still working on this!

But we can’t celebrate without a giveaway can we? I have been cleaning off my shelves in preparation for our BEA 2014 trip that is coming up, which means I have stacks and stacks of books sitting in piles that I need to get rid of. Instead of being all fussy about it, I’m going to giveaway 2 random boxes of books… as many as I can fit in a flat rate media box. I’m also doing a separate box of Romance/New Adult/ Erotica titles. These books could be ARCs they could be finished copies, but they are all in excellent condition. I just don’t have the room for them. Unfortunately this part of the giveaway is US only because I’m not rich.

**side note – I may add more winners as I get boxes packed so there may be more than 2 winners! **
