Military legacy Ari Alexander has survived alien spies, WWIV, and a changing world order. But when the new leader of Earth uses Jackson—the only boy she’s ever let herself care about—to get to her, Ari has no choice but to surrender.
To free Jackson, she agrees to travel to the national bases to train others to fight. What she discovers is a land riddled with dying people. Ari has the power to heal by turning the fighters into aliens—half-breeds like her. If she succeeds, together, they have a chance at overthrowing the alien leader, Zeus. But if she fails, everyone she holds dear will be wiped away forever.
Once again, everything Ari’s come to believe is thrown into question. In a world of uncertainty, loyalties are tested, lies are uncovered, and no one can be trusted. If Ari and Jackson have any hope at survival and at preserving a life for the future, they must fight the final war with their eyes wide open.

Let’s talk characters!
What would Jackson have on his Christmas list?
A laser gun and Zeus detained, ready to be killed.
If Colt and Kara are spending New Year’s Eve together what would they be doing?
Colt and Kara both love life and living it. I could see him surprising her with a trip to NYC to see the ball drop.
What would Preston put under the tree for Olivia this year?
A journal. Olivia stays very inside herself, and though she is opening up, she will never be an extrovert. He would give her a journal, so she would have a safe place to talk out her thoughts and feelings.
What are Jackson and Ari doing this Christmas?
Presently, they are gearing up for war, and like so many around the world who are forced to live with the threat of death on their backs, they aren’t celebrating anything. Only readying themselves to fight.
Now how about some questions for you!
When do you hang up your decorations?
Funny, we are traditionalists in my house. Every year we buy our tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and begin decorating the tree and house that same day. But this year was different. My dad has battled cancer on and off for years now, and through this, I’ve realized my time with him is likely numbered. My parents and grandmother came to my house for Thanksgiving this year, and I wanted to make it extra special. When they arrived, I had the house already decorated for the holidays and our tree up, but not decorated, so he could help decorate it with my daughters. It was a very special day.
Colored lights or white lights?
See this is a tricky question! I have always been a white lights kind of person, and still go with white on my tree, but I have 2 small little girls, and they really, really wanted color for the outside of our house. They’re only little once and Christmas should be fun, so the outside of my house sparkles a thousand different colors. LOL!
What’s on your holiday wishlist this year?
Honestly? If I could have anything, I would choose time. Both time with my family without worry over other obligations and time alone to write without a thousand other things to do. I’m a simple person. Give me a caramel brulee and a little time and I’m a happy girl. 🙂
What’s your favorite holiday tradition?
Right now, we love finding our Elf on the Shelf every morning. He gets into a world of trouble and tends to make my life hard, but my little ones love him so! I also love watching The Polar Express and still get misty-eyed every single time I watch it. We’re doing the actual Polar Express train ride this year, and it is going to be so much fun!!
Do you open gifts on Christmas eve or Christmas day?
Christmas Eve with the family, and Christmas Day from Santa.
What’s your favorite holiday movie?
Just mentioned this above, but The Polar Express, though A Christmas Story is a very close 2nd. “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!”
It’s midnight on New Year’s Eve – you can kiss any celebrity, living or dead. Who do you pick?
Hmmm…lately, I am addicted to Sons of Anarchy, so I’d choose Charlie Hunnam!
Now tell us a little about what’s on the horizon for you? Are you working on something new? Do you have something coming out soon?
I am a busy bee for the next 18 mos to 2 years. COLLIDE, book 3 in the Taking series, releases in January, and I know my readers have been waiting a long time for it. I can’t wait to finally give them this book, because it isn’t for me at all. I wrote it with my readers in mind, and I feel they will be very satisfied with the end! Or so I hope! Then I have two new adult titles releasing with Entangled. They are light and fun. A new adult contemporary romance series releasing with Kensington will begin in 2015, and then I am joining the Bliss line with a super sweet and swoony small-town romance that I absolutely love! Finally, the prequel to GRAVITY, featuring an alien assassin girl and the future president boy she’s sent to kill. This one is going to be a blast! So that’s it for me! 🙂
One lucky winner will win (us only) paperback copies of Gravity (book 1) and Hover (book 2)
