From the New York Times bestselling author of Hex Hall comes the sparkling finale in the beloved Rebel Belle series.  Just as Harper Price starts coming to terms with her role as David Stark's battle-ready Paladin, protector, and girlfriend--her world goes crazy all over again.   Overwhelmed by his Oracle powers, David flees Pine Grove and starts turning teenaged girls into Paladins--and these young ladies seem to think that Harper is the enemy David needs protecting from. Ordinarily, Harper would be able to fight off any Paladin who comes her way, but her powers have been dwindling since David left town, which means her life is on the line yet again.  Now, it's a desperate race for Harper to find and rescue David before she backslides from superhero to your garden-variety type-A belle.  New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hawkins brings the fun once again in the finale of this pitch-perfect romantic paranormal comedy series.
Describe Lady Renegades in 5 words.
Road Trips, High Heels, Swords.
How did this story come about, what was your inspiration? What made you think you had to write this story?
I’ve always wanted to write a road trip book, and after two books set in Harper’s hometown of Pine Grove, it felt like a good time to broaden the books’ “world” a bit!
Can you share (without spoilers) a line or section of Lady Renegades that is your favorite?
There’s a certain scene in a cave that was heart-wrenching to write, but I’m so pleased with how it turned out!
Which character gave you the most trouble when writing Lady Renegades?
Blythe. Which is Typical Her. 😉
What upcoming 2016 release (besides your own) are you most excited to read and fangirl over?
I LOVED Kiersten White’s AND I DARKEN. Also really looking forward to Victoria Schwab’s THIS SAVAGE SONG.
Do you have any strange writing habits?
No! I really don’t believe in developing ANY kind of ritual around my writing because there will come a time where I won’t have the Magic Hat or the Special Candle or whatever, and THEN where will I be?
What are you currently reading?
I’m on a non-fiction kick at the moment, so I’m reading a great true crime book called THE MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN.
What’s next for you? Are you working on anything right now that you can tell us about?
I have my first MG novel, JOURNEY’S END, coming out in October, and am currently at work on a new YA about princes, Scotland, and Various Shenanigans.
Tell us 5 random facts about you.
- I can sing every word to at least 5 musicals.
- I collect owls and dragons (not the real ones, alas.)
- I’m entirely too devoted to the color pink.
- My cat is named after the Loch Ness Monster.
- I am bad at coming up with random facts about myself.
