Monthly Wrap Up

We can’t believe May flew by so quickly! I feel like I am behind in some of my reading but I think that is mostly because there are so many great books out there and I want to read them all…soon. Check out what we did this month!

BEA 2016 – Chicago, IL

BEA was a blast and we got to spend time with some of our favorite people and authors (I FINALLY MET PIERCE BROWN!!!) in the book world! While it was great to be in Chicago this year, I look forward to going back to New York next year. We also hit up BookCon which…HOLY LINES!!! It was a fantastic week and we loved every minute of it. Now…we wait for BEA 2017!

Fun with our Blogger Besties – Swoony Boys Podcast!

WHADDA YA KNOW WEDNESDAY

You guys!! Please consider joining us for our YA trivia night! We started this a few months ago and have been having so much fun with it! Whadda Ya Know Wednesday will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month! We love interacting with all of you and we love talking books, book boys, and gushing over our favorite authors. We couldn’t think of a better way to do all of that than by combining all of those things, throwing in some awesome prizes, and having a blast while doing it! EVENTS

Because BEA was this month and in Chicago, we had an opportunity to see a number of authors while we were there. All of these were held at one of the many Anderson’s Bookshop locations and they always have a great set up. Go check out their events page as they have a lot of amazing authors scheduled over the next few months.

Maggie Stiefvater – The Raven King

I think the picture below is a perfect image to describe a Maggie Stiefvater event. She is an amazing storyteller (DUH) and standing on a table in a packed bookstore, Maggie told some fantastic stories to some of her biggest fans. The Raven Cycle series is one of my favorite series of all time so we HAD to go see Maggie and being that The Raven King is the last of the series, I needed to get my copy signed in person. If you haven’t read this series yet all I have to say is get moving.

Will Ritter – Jackaby Series

Jaime loves this series so when we found out Will was going to be at Anderson’s La Grange, IL store, we made the trip to go see him. While I haven’t yet read these books, they are on my bookshelf and I have been waiting to dive in until the last book – thankfully that is soon! It was great to meet Will Ritter and hear about the story directly from him. He also did a fabulous reading!

Sarah J. Maas – A Court of Mist and Fury

Sarah’s event was one of the craziest things I have seen at Anderson’s in a while. There were so many people there that the people were lined up between all the bookshelves. Since Sarah was at Bookcon all day, it really was her just signing but thankfully we all had tickets in the 20’s as it was a really long day already!

Jennifer L Armentrout & Liza Wiemer

We were invited to moderate an event with Jennifer Armentrout (The Problem with Forever) and Liza Wiemer (Hello?) and we had a fantastic time! If you haven’t read either of these books, go get them, right now. They are both wonderful authors but also wonderful people and if you haven’t had the opportunity to meet them in person, try to do so if you can. Roshani Chokshi – The Star-Touched Queen

Roshani is so, so lovely. If you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet, do what you can to fix that. Since the moment we crossed paths on an escalator at ALA, we’ve known we were going to love her! She is so friendly and kind and an amazing speaker!
