Monthly Wrap Up: May

May is officially at an end and I feel like we missed spring completely here in Wisconsin. No matter, we are excited for June to get here because it means a few things. First – we get to see our besties Meg and Kassiah and it has been FOREVER!!! Second – ALA is coming up so we are prepping for our trip to New Orleans and getting to visit not only with our besties but also checking out the city as I have never been so if you have any recommendations of things to do/visit while we are there, put them in the comments for us.

EVENTS

We had so many great events this month and didn’t even have to go to Illinois for all of them! But really, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to three different tours this month and were able to see some of our favorite authors.

Epic Reads Tour

The Book Cellar hosted this tour at the Chicago Public Library and we had a great time listening to these fantastic authors talk about their books. Julie Murphy, Becky Albertali, and Katie Cotugno participated and had a good size crowd in attendance. Thankfully we got there early (to avoid traffic) and ended up with great seats!

Fierce Reads Tour

Boswell Book Company hosted the Fierce Reads tour this month at the Oak Creek Library and we enjoyed having the opportunity seeing some new authors as well as some of our favorites we’ve met before. Maureen Goo, Tricia Levenseller, Taran Matharu and Mary E. Pearson all participated in this tour and we had a fantastic time listening to them talk about their books, the tour, and other random things.

War Storm Tour

To celebrate the release of the final book in the Red Queen series, Books & Company and Boswell Book Company hosted Victoria Aveyard (War Storm), Brittany Cavallaro (The Case for Jamie), and Lori M. Lee (Gates of Thread and Stone & A Thousand Beginnings and Endings) in a discussion at the Delafield Public Library. I was super excited when this was announced…along with a lot of other people too I’m sure as the event was packed! We enjoyed getting to see this group again as they are always entertaining and if you haven’t read their books yet, definitely go check them out now!
