I’m pretty sure fall is now over and we are moving quickly into winter. Ok…I might be exaggerating a little bit (very little) but with snow in the forecast, I feel justified. We had a great October around here – lots of author events / signings and of course, books read!
Fun with our Blogger Besties – Swoony Boys Podcast!
We have a number of backlogged episodes so you may have noticed an extra post this month! You get two Hotties posts this month so enjoy!!
It’s time for our favorite episode each month featuring the guys who made us swoon the most all month long. 😉 Even though one of us had a not-so-swoony month, we’ve got some great guys for you to check out. Of course, we’ve got some honorable mentions, too, so stick around. Without further ado, bring on the hotties!

Events:
We have been super lucky this month and were able to see / meet some amazing authors. First, there was the Fierce Reads tour with Katy Rose Pool (There Will Come a Darkness), Margaret Owen (The Merciful Crow), L.L. McKinney (A Dream so Dark), and Sara Faring (The Tenth Girl). If you haven’t read these yet, make sure you add them to your TBR!
Of course, when we heard Ashley Elston was coming to Illinois, we knew we were making the trip. Ashley writes some of our favorite books and she recently released 10 Blind Dates which is a contemporary. Add this to your list immediately and of course, go read her other books because they are fantastic! We also lucked out because the moderators were Stephanie Kate Strohm and Crystal Cestari who also have some amazing books so check them out!
And for the final Anderson’s Bookshops event, we were lucky to get the opportunity to see Leigh Bardugo to celebrate the release of her first adult novel, Ninth House. If you know us, you know we love everything Leigh writes and I’ve been recommending this book to everyone. As always, Leigh was lovely and amazing and we can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
And last, but definitely not least, we hit the road and headed south. First stop was in Tinley Park, IL to a bookstore called Love’s Sweet Arrow to see an author we have loved for years but have never had the chance to meet. Sherry Thomas writes one of our most favorite YA series, The Elemental Trilogy, and if you haven’t read it yet, you need to go do that now. I’m serious. She also writes some great historical fiction and romance too so make sure you check her books out.
We also headed down to Ohio for the Books by the Banks book festival in Cincinnati and it was such a great time. We got to see a bunch of authors that we love and rarely get to see so it was well worth the time spent in the car. Definitely check this out for next year!
