Monthly Wrap Up Post

Welcome to the post where I do my best not to complain about the weather we’ve been having! I hope your February was fantastic and although it is a shorter month, things have been a bit crazy for us here. We’ve started doing some more podcasts with our besties and hope everyone is enjoying them – please check them out below and shoot us some comments here or on Twitter and tell us what you think!

Fun with our Blogger Besties – Swoony Boys Podcast!

If you haven’t heard yet, we have recorded some new and fun podcasts with our besties over at Swoony Boys Podcast. We’ve decided that each month we will have a few different things going up because we miss talking to each other so make sure you check back here often.

Our first addition is the #EJKMbookclub. Each month one of us will pick a book for everyone to read and we’ll come back together to discuss. Our February pick was Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills and we all LOVED it! Check out our discussion below and it’s not too late to join in for our March read. Kassiah chose Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger and if you have read or will read it soon, you can join the discussion by using the hashtag #EJKMbookclub to let us know your thoughts!

Like us, you probably have a number of books on your shelves that you’ve been meaning to read (or re-read) but just haven’t gotten around to it. Well we’ve decided that each month, we will pick an assigned read for someone. We each have our own lists (Erin | Jaime | Kassiah | Meg), and each month we’ll take turns choosing a book from the lists we’ve made. We’ll get together and recap those reads for all of you and let you know what we thought! And we’ll also reveal to each other what we’ll be reading next! Check out the episode below to see what we all picked for each other for February.

We didn’t stop at two podcasts this month! We went ahead and gave you all a special Valentine’s Day edition of our Hotties of the Month episode. You know we miss our old Book Bangin’ episodes, so we thought we’d strip it down for you and just give you the guys who made us swoon the most all month long.

Events

We have been pretty lucky with author events lately. Earlier this month we headed down to Anderson’s Bookshop to meet Robin LaFevers and she was fantastic! We’ve loved her books since the second we picked up Grave Mercy and granted…I am a bit behind with the rest of the series but that didn’t stop me from picking up my copy of Courting Darkness because I know I’m going to want to read them all back to back. If you haven’t grabbed this one yet, make sure you do as soon as you can!

We also were lucky enough to get to hang out with the lovely and amazing Lizzy Mason who came to Milwaukee to celebrate the release of her debut novel, The Art of Losing. Boswell Books hosted the event and it was so wonderful to be able to see Lizzy on the other side of the author table this time around. Make sure you add this YA Contemporary to your TBR shelf and if you can, get your hands on a copy soon!
