Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
So this might actually be one of my favorite topics on Top Ten Tuesday… mostly because it makes me look back at my past year and make some decisions on what to do in the coming year. So here goes!Â
1. Â Read more books from my own bookshelf. Â This year I think I did pretty good. I tried to mix in the books I’ve purchased with the ‘for review’ books, and I got through quite a few that have been on my shelves for years.Â
2. Â Give myself some days off! Â This year we posted 612 posts. Â Yes… that’s correct and it’s a little bit crazy. Â 251 of those were reviews which makes the rest of those memes, cover reveals, features, giveaways, podcasts or interviews. Â While on the surface blogging may seem like just a fun past-time… it’s a TON of work. Â Between coordinating calendars, dealing with the pressure to get something read and setting up posts, it’s almost like a part-time job. Â Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love doing this but we all need breaks right?Â
3. Buy fewer books – This is kind of a hopeless resolution. I say it every year, but I have to if only to remind myself that I have hundreds of books on my shelves that haven’t yet been opened. Â
4. Â Continue my ‘real-books’ quest. Â We did the “Real Books Challenge this past year because Meg, Kass, Erin and I found ourselves defaulting to grabbing a book off our e-readers instead of picking up something off our shelves. Â I’m so glad I did it! I ended up reading 113 ‘real books’ and made more of an effort to look through the books that I had purchased and really wanted to read.Â
5. Â Finish some of the series books that I’ve put aside because I don’t want them to end. Â That is self-explanatory and probably a little pathetic, but I have a ton of third books that I need to just finally suck it up and read. Â
6. Â Get the new blog design up and running. Â This has been in the works for a while, and I just need to get it done. Â This also leads to needing new business cards and redesigning a few other things but let’s take it one step at a time. LOLÂ
7. Visit more blogs!! UGH I’m fail, but I hope to start making the rounds again this year!Â
We’re just going to leave it there at 7 … and see if we can make these few happen! Â What’s on your goal/resolution list for 2015? Let us know in the comments!
