Breaking Point by Pamela Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
True rating – 3.5 stars – This is probably tied with the first book in this series as being my favorite and I hope that we’ll see more of these. If you’re not familiar with the I-Team books, they revolve around a Denver team of investigative journalists. The books have lots of drama and suspense and most have a big helping of romance.
In Book 5 we follow Natalie Benoit to Mexico where she’s kidnapped by members of a Mexican drug cartel. Here she meets Zach and I have to admit that I really love the male characters in Ms. Clare’s books, but holy jesus the women drive me a bit nutso.
Without giving away the story, there is crime to solve, stories to report, and sex to be having. It’s all in there… I promise.
The thing I’ve noticed with these books, and TBH I’m not the only one. (I’ve had this convo with my sister) is that they have this very typical equation for a happily ever after … the women want to get married, the man is hesitant, they part ways, something big and dramatic brings them back together and the man sees the error of his ways and they admit their love and get married. o__o oh wait… don’t forget the babies because, well, why not.
So anyway, if you don’t mind the calculated romance, these definitely have enough action, hot guys and hot sexy times to get you through the predictable parts…. I mean FFS look at that cover! LOL
