Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi

DESTROY ME IS HERE!!
Sorry… I can’t contain my joy at having more of Tahereh Mafi’s words to read. I loved loved loved Shatter Me, and I am dying to read Unravel Me… but when I found out that she was going to give us a glimpse into Warner with Destroy Me, I was ecstatic.
Warner is the boy I loved even when I hated him. He’s supposed to be the bad guy, but I can’t find it in my heart to dislike him, and this book… this book right here, solidified how much I adore him.
In Destroy Me, we get a glimpse into his life, what it is, what it has become since the end of Shatter Me, and to say I wanted to hold him close (even if he probably wouldn’t let me) is an understatement. You get the full range of his feelings for Juliette in this book. Warner is a broken man.. yes, at 19 he is a man, running Sector 45 and trying to keep out of the range of his father’s anger. He’s strong, but he’s broken. He has a rigid life that he’s created for himself and Juliette has left him feeling out of sorts…
“I have an extremely low threshold for disorder; it offends my very being.”
We finally get to see that his desire for Juliette is more than a need for something powerful in this book…
“I almost forget that she still hates me, despite how hard I’ve fallen for her.
And I’ve fallen.
So hard.”
I am struggling here with this review because I seriously want to quote all the things – for a 100 page book I may have highlighted more than in books 4 times it’s size. I’m not going to tell you anything else, you’ll just have to go read for yourself!
I couldn’t put this down, and with the little bit of a tease of Unravel Me at the end of this I’m even more impatient for the next in this series.
Tahereh …
