Admittedly I had to do a reread of Royally Screwed in order to really remember who Tommy Sullivan exactly was, but as soon as he popped up on the page in that book I remembered his flirty, winking self!
I love this series from Emma Chase so much that I make it a point to reread these books regularly! I’ve just got something for royalty and the people they fall in love with lately!
Dirty Charmer is years in the future from where the Royally series started, and I love the small appearances from the past characters that give us a snapshot of what’s happening to them now!
Abby and Tommy couldn’t be more opposite – Abby loves routine and habit she is already set in her ways and Tommy is none of that… he’s a free-wheeling, playboy, bodyguard who’s only commitment is to live in the moment. My favorite thing about this book though … the fact that Tommy knows exactly who Abby is from the start and despite her hang ups and routines he doesn’t try to change her. These two are completely caught off guard by the fact that they are falling for each other as they spend time together. It was kind of fun to see it smack them both in the face when they finally realize that their feelings went deeper than they ever expected.
As usual the chemistry between these two was wonderfully done – Chase does an amazing job of building that with all her characters and I’m reminded every time I pick up a new book from her! I’d also like to really point out that Dirty Charmer is the perfect title for this book because it fits Tommy to a T! While Abby kind of sets the parameters of how they will interact (or tries to) Tommy helps her expand those walls she has set in place and realize that how her family made her feel growing up is not how the rest of the world sees her. I love that she grew into someone who could stand up and share her feelings and express her frustration with her family by the end of the story and that was due to the strength and security that Tommy gave her.
If you haven’t yet checked out Emma Chase – what’s wrong with you! LOL – kidding, but you must get these books on your TBR pile and just read them all straight through!
