Seven-Night Stand by Nicole Helm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This turned out to be a really sweet and cute story.
Vivvy Marsh is stuck in Demo, Kansas to scout the Harrington family hangar. She’s pitched a reality show to her bosses that would feature the Harrington family based on a phone call from Jed Harrington. What she didn’t expect was Nate.
Nate Harrington has taken over the family business. His twin brother moved to Kansas City to become a lawyer, Millard, his grandfather isn’t well enough to be a part of the company he built from the ground up and his father is a womanizing jerk. When he finds out Vivvy is in town to try and convince him to agree to this reality show he nixes it immediately. He doesn’t want the world to know about his crazy family. What he didn’t expect was Vivvy.
I really enjoyed the development of the characters for the most part. Vivvy is estranged from her family and she tends to distance herself from emotion, never connecting to anyone until Nate and it scares her. She’s supposed to be in Demo for one reason only… convince Nate that this show is exactly what they need. I found that Vivvy was a little harder to get a read on character-wise. Now, I’m not sure if that is intentional because of her desire to bury her emotions and feelings, but I really found Nate a lot easier to like. I loved him. 🙂
The chemistry between the two characters was really well written, there were more fade to blacks than I typically like, but the ones that did not FTB were well done. (no squicky words or images LOL)
If you’re looking for a quick, sweet and cute romance that will only take you a few hours to read, then this will do the trick! There’s just a bit of everything in this story – angst, drama, sexytimes and romance to keep you turning the pages!
