My rating: 3 of 5 stars
ok… so I mostly liked this book… I mean, what’s not to like. 6’6″ of hot firefighter LOL In all actuality this is probably a 2.5 for me, but I didn’t want to give it just a 2 lolz
The story itself was pretty good, the mystery of who the bad guy was… I kinda figured who it was, but the climax was still well done.
What I didn’t like. *sigh*
I have problems with certain phrasing and certain words and certain cliche’s and that’s where this book got me.
Howard “Six-Pack” Patton is a confirmed bachelor, and a firefighter. Kat McKenna is the curvy school teacher, who inadvertently becomes a victim at the scene of a fire that Howard is called to. An arsonist and killer is on the loose in Sugarland and they are at the center of it all.
The hot stuff was hot… definitely, (and there is a lot of it) but again this is where the phrasing really got to me. Also… she’s 27 (I think) and never had an O with anyone … not even herself, but the first time he chooses to “give” her one is in a family park. o__o
I guess for me it all seemed rather forced or rushed… I do realize that this is the first book in a series (we meet a lot of the other guys/girl as the book progresses) and I might give the others in the series a try. I’m currently undecided on that front.
