Willow Haven’s content. Okay, that’s a lie, but she has been trying her damndest. Trouble is, it never sticks. Second oldest in a family her town was named after, she’s always felt the pressure. From the townspeople, from her sisters, but most of all from her daddy—the original Good Old Boy and Havenbrook’s reigning mayor. The only time she didn’t feel that stress had been those blissful months spent in the arms of the resident bad boy. The same one who broke her heart beyond repair when he left without a word.
Life hasn’t come easy for Finn Thomas. He’s had to claw and fight for everything he’s ever had—and truth be told, it hasn’t been much. He spent the first eighteen years of his life living so far from the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. The only thing that ever came easy for him and made his sorry ass happy was the one girl he loved with all his heart. And the one thing he had no choice but to leave behind.
When an opportunity arises to return to his tiny, southern hometown and open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he jumps at the chance. That won’t win him points with the mayor, who’s hell bent on making Finn’s life a nightmare for sullying his namesake. But too bad for Mayor Haven, Finn’s got his sights set on more than just the town, and this time he won’t be scared off quite so easily.

Jaime’s Thoughts
I am so excited to have another Contemporary Romance from Brighton Walsh in my hands!
Willow Haven has lived in the town that bears her family name all her life. She had big plans when she was younger… and dating the resident bad boy, but all that is in her past because he broke her heart and left town years ago. Her life is on the right track working for her very demanding father in the mayor’s office. Or so she keeps telling herself.
Finn Thomas never had it easy, growing up on the wrong side of town, he was reminded often about how he didn’t belong in Havenbrook much less dating the mayor’s daughter. But he knew was that he was happiest when he was with Willow, but then something goes wrong and he’s forced to leave town and with no explanation to the girl who held his heart in her hand.
Willow isn’t ready for the wrench Finn showing back up in Havensbrook will cause, but she has no choice. Finn, his twin brother and a friend have the opportunity to open the first bar in what used to be a dry county and they aren’t giving up on the plan no matter how much the mayor is against it, and if he can get Willow to forgive him along the way… even better.
If you’ve read Walsh’s other books, then you know she’s a master at creating characters you can’t help but fall in love with and this book is no exception. Relationships are always at the heart of her stories, (not just romantic ones) and in Second Chance Charmer, she dives deep into the bonds between siblings, parents and friends.
As always, I can’t get enough of our main characters. While Finn is definitely a guys guy, he also isn’t afraid to share his feelings and lay it all on the line for the girl he loves. Willow is relatable in ways so many of us will definitely understand… and her relationships with her sisters are so wonderfully done. The chemistry between these two is so amazing, and it’s something that Walsh definitely excels at. You’ll get swoony, sweet moments and sexy, passionate moments… and you won’t be able to decide which is your favorite because they’re all so good.
This is also the start of a new companion series, which is good news for all of us, and while there are definitely some hints as to who’s story we’ll hopefully get next, I’ll take whatever Walsh wants to give us!
