Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
Becky Albertali – Simon vs. The Homo Sapien
If you guys follow me you know that I absolutely fell in love with Simon and after reading the book I grabbed the audio and that just brought this book even more to life (the narrator is amazing! GET IT!). Â I am so excited to see what Becky has coming next!
Emiko Jean – We’ll Never Be Apart
I thought Emiko Jean’s book We’ll Never Be Apart was wonderful. Â Not only did the story she wrote immediately grab my attention but the way she tells the story is a mix of current happenings and flashbacks in the form of journal writing. It was such a great way to get to the heart of the story and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
Ashley Herring Blake – Suffer Love
THIS BOOK – you guys I got my hands on an early copy (thank you Ashley!) and I can honestly say that this will be amongst my favorite reads this year. I do realized that this book isn’t even out yet and I am already grabby hands about her next but I don’t care. Put it on your must buy list for 2016!
Emma Mills – First & Then
LOVED LOVED LOVED this book so much. I love Emma’s writing style and I am super excited to see what book 2 is all about!
Shalanda Stanley – Drowning is Inevitable
I picked this one up on a whim and you guys I’m so glad I did… the writing was beautiful, the friendship were amazing and the story was just perfection. Â I am excited to see what Shalanda’s next book will be like!
Virginia Boecker – The Witch Hunter
The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker is one of my favorite fantasy books this year. Â I admit, one of the reasons that Boecker makes this list is that I am super excited to see what happens next in this series. Â Add to that the fact that Boecker can write a great story and you can see why she makes our list this week!
Sabaa Tahir – An Ember in the Ashes
Another favorite fantasy book this year is An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Â I finished this book and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book – not only because the book was sooo good but also because Tahir wrote an amazing story that had me flipping the pages just to find out what was going to happen next. Â I am absolutely looking forward to Tahir’s next book and if you haven’t checked out her first one, do it now!
Adam Silvera –Â More Happy Than Not
ADAM – we big puffy heart Adam around here, so imagine how much we love his book! Seriously, History Is All You Left Me sounds incredible and we’ll be waiting somewhat impatiently to get our hands on it!
Sarah Tomp –Â My Best Everything
This book and author wasn’t even on my radar until I was at ALAMW this year. Â I’m so glad I read it though – It’s definitely one of my all-time favorites for sure and I am excited to see what she writes next!
Kim Liggett – Blood & Salt
I love creepy, horror books and Kim Liggett’s first book, Blood and Salt was one I was looking forward to for a while. Â When I found out Liggett is not only writing a follow up book to Blood and Salt but also working on another book pitched as Friday Night Lights meets Rosemary’s Baby…for real. Â I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
C.L. Denault – Gambit
I just happened to come across the book Gambit by C.L. Denault and it was so good I can’t wait to see what Denault writes next. Â If you get the chance, check out her book and if you’re like me, you won’t be able to wait for the next book!
There you have it… these are debut authors we’re super excited for a second book from! What do you think? Who’s on your list? Let us know in the comments!Â
