This week is an interesting topic for many reasons, but mostly because I’m horrible at taking things off of my To Read Shelf. However, I do find that if I don’t read a book early and then I start to hear things about it that make me feel kind of meh or I just it tends to sit forever on my TBR list I do lose interest. I try to clean my To Read shelf occasionally, but I don’t do it often enough. That said, I’m going to do it now, and I’m going to share the titles that I’m removing!
The Testing Series by Joelle Charboneau – I read book 1 and liked it, but didn’t love it. It’s kind of a mash up of other dystopians, so I’m sure I’ll never go back to it
Across The Universe Series by Beth Revis – Again, I read book 1 and only liked it… I haven’t had the urge to go back to it so I’m pretty sure I won’t.
Age of X Series by Richelle Mead – I love Vampire Academy… however, I have had this book on my shelf for ages and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever read it. I haven’t heard a lot of glowing things so it’s not high on my list.
Bloodlines Series by Richelle Mead– ugh… again I loved Vampire Academy, but the bloodlines just didn’t pull me in as much as I had hoped it would. I’ve read a couple of the books but haven’t gone back.
Blood Red Road by Moira Young – I have heard amazing things about this series, however, the writing style kills me every time I try to pick it up.
The Hunt Series by Andrew Fukuda – I’m intrigued by the premise of this series… but not enough to actually pick it up and read it. I’ve had these books on my shelf for a while and I just haven’t. I think it’s time to be honest with myself.
Outlander Series by Diana Galbadon – I have no urge what so ever to read these books. Don’t get me wrong, I love romance, but I’ve heard so much conflicting thoughts on them. I’ve watched the first season of the series, I have season 2 & 3 to watch and I like it, but it’s not riveting to me.
Uninvited by Sophie Jordan– okay I’m torn on this one because I heard amazing things about this book, but then I also heard book 2 wasn’t one I’d love. Soooooo I think I should just not bother.
Immortal Games Series by Ann Aguirre – I am not entirely sure why I haven’t picked this series up yet… Friends have enjoyed it, but I just haven’t had the urge to get it. I’m not sure I will.
Project Cain by Geoffrey Girard – some of the people that I trust most who have read this book… hated it. So I think I’m safe in saying that I probably will never pick it up.
Are there any on this list that I really need to reconsider? Have you culled your ‘To Read’ shelf lately? What’s something you removed? Let me know in the comments!Â
