Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
This week the topic is: Top Ten books we thought we’d love MORE/LESS than we did. Â We have a good mix of those we were pleasantly surprised with as well as those that we were expecting more from…check ’em out.
1. Clockwork Princess was a bit disappointing to me only because I felt that Clare tried to make everyone happy. Â I’m fine with it and will eventually get over it but I may be just a little bitter on behalf of Will. Â (Erin)
5. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – Â Everyone loves this book it seems. I swear I’m broken, because all I could think about was how much I disliked Mara. The plot was totally okay and I liked Noah, but man – Mara could get run down by a car for all I cared. (Jaime)
7. My Beating Teenage Heart – love love loveÂ
this book. I picked it up just because the premise sounded interesting and it ended up going on my 4 star shelf and I even bought a hardcopy… that’s the true measure of love! (Jaime)
8. Requiem – We loved the Delirium series. The fact that this book gave us a “non-ending” made us a bit ragey. We get the intent and reason but we wanted some closure…don’t hold it against us. (Erin & Jaime)
9. City of Bones – again… I swear I’m broken, but I just could not find one redeeming thing about this book. I rant in my review. Â A lot. (Jaime)
10. Edge of Dawn – I was prepared NOT to like this book because it wasn’t going to be the brothers I was so enamored with in the previous books. Â I happened to get my hands on an ARC of this and I loooooved it. Â Even with the new(ish) characters I’m still in love with the world Adrian has created… Â even more so than BDB (js). Â (Jaime)

2. Dark Awakenings – I really wasn’t expecting anything going into this series. Â I find that sometimes paranormals are hit or miss for me but I had a nice surprise with this first book and it prompted me to pick up the following books in the series. (Erin & Jaime)
3. The Edge of Never – no words… except that when I see or hear about it and how much people love it I can barely contain the anger. While the boy was swoony I can’t over look plot holes and plot devices Andrew’s anger issues and things that just plain didn’t make any sense to enjoy the story. Dear authors – you can’t base your story on the fact that you have a hot, swoony, bad boy for a main character. Â At least not if you want me to like it. (Jaime)

6. Dare You To – I loved this one and I wasn’t expecting it…mostly because I really enjoyed Echo’s and Noah’s story and Beth wasn’t one of my favorite characters in Pushing the Limits. Â I have to say that Beth and Ryan pulled it off and by the end of this book I wanted more. (Erin)
