Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
This week the topic is: Top Ten Favorite Books I Read Before I Was A Blogger… I’m amending this topic to also read before I found Goodreads because I found that for the most part I kinda reviewed things once I found Goodreads… but I go back to books on my favorites list that I love love and realize I read them way back when and there isn’t a good review attached to them and then I get sad and think I should reread and do an appropriate review, but then I also look at my TBR list and sigh…Â
Jaime’s Top Ten
If I Stay/Where She Went – Gayle Forman – I absolutely love Mia and Adam’s story, and everytime I pull up If I Stay in GR I die a little inside knowing there is no review posted for it.Â
Shiver – Maggie Stiefvater – I absolutely devoured this book on a car ride over Thanksgiving in 2009.  It had sat on my shelf forever and I was like… what the hell.  Welp, I couldn’t put it down and when I finished I turned to my sister and  told her she HAD to read it!Â
Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead – This is probably among my most rec’d series next to the Iron Fey books. I absolutely love the world Mead created and I can’t wait for the films to see what they do with them.Â
How to Kill A Rockstar – Tiffanie DeBartolo – Â This is one of the books that brought me back to the reading world and I absolutely love it. Â I need need to reread this one so that I can put my thoughts down.
Anna and the French Kiss – Stephanie Perkins – I still can’t believe I never gave this book a proper review.
Along for the Ride – Sarah Dessen – This is one of my favorite Dessen books. I say that like I’ve read them all, I haven’t. But out of the ones I have, I loved Auden and  Eli best. Â
The Sky Is Everywhere – Jandy Nelson – okay so I’m cheating on this one because I did read it before I was blogging, but I also have a bit of a review on this one posted. Â Not that it will ever do it justice, but it’s something. Â I had to add this one though because it’s a beautiful story!
Unwind – Neal Shusterman – You want dystopian… this… you need  to read this. I loved the world that Shusterman created and I wish I had written a review when I read it.
Graffiti Moon – Cath Crowley – I adore this book. Â I actually do have a review posted for it too, but I would love to do a better job and I didn’t ever actually get to post it to the blog. Crowley writes beautiful words.Â
My Beating Teenage Heart – C.K. Kelly Martin – I don’t know what it was about this book that grabbed me and didn’t let go.  I really loved the narrator and it was a unique story and while  I do have a review posted, I would love to post it to the blog someday.Â
Erin’s Top Ten
Since I am somewhat new to the blogger world, I am able to pick some titles that are my recent favorites. Â Similar to Jaime, I have found that when I go back to Goodreads and realize I didn’t put in a review, I feel like I need to go back and read it again just so I can share my love. I might do this someday – if only my to read list wasn’t so long…
About Last Night – Ruthie Knox – Really all I can say about this one is that Nev will forever be one of my favorite characters. Â He is sensitive, plays rugby and can talk dirty like nobody’s business.
My Beating Teenage Heart – C.K. Kelly Martin – I read this one a while ago but it has always been on my list of favorites.  It has an interesting approach to dealing with grief and loss and I know that one of these days I will read this just so I can add a review.
The Pledge – Kimberly Derting – A strong character who thinks about what she is doing…this makes me happy! Â Seriously, this is a great story that grabbed my attention from the very beginning. Â The cover is pretty too.
Unwind – Neal Shusterman – This book…I loved it but it definitely had some disturbing sections. I don’t know what that says about me but if you are looking for a dystopian that grabs you from the very beginning, this one certainly accomplishes that. Â
Graffiti Moon – Cath Crowley – This is one of my all time favorites.  The characters, the story, the writing…all are perfect and if you haven’t read this, go do it now.  For real.
The Sky Is Everywhere – Jandy Nelson – I love this book so much I have two copies of it.  This is one of the books that I recommend to anyone who asks me for something to read.  That is all I can really say about it….trust me that you should go read this if you haven’t already.
Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo – The Grisha is one of my favorite series ever…seriously. Â I’m not sure I can ever really describe how fantastic this book is – if you like fantasy and amazing world building, this is the book for you. Â Leigh Bardugo is a genius who creates perfect characters and sucks you in. Â Plus…The Darkling and Mal – I can’t figure out who is better.
Shatter Me – Tahereh Mafi – I can’t even believe that I don’t have a review for this one but in my defense, I read it before I found Goodreads and because I love this one, there is no doubt I will go back to review. Â It is another great dystopian that has lovely characters and an intriguing story.
A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness – This is one of those books that people love or hate and I fall into the faction that loves it. Â The history and science mixed in with Diana and Matthews story is what drew me in and kept me turning the pages.
Dearly, Departed – Lia Habel – You may or may not have seen my recent review on this series.  Regardless, if you are looking for a great steampunk/zombie novel I recommend you start here.  Rarely do I like all of the characters in a book but it happened here.  Also….zombies – come on.
