Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
This week the topic is: Top Ten Favorite Characters in Dystopian Genres
(in no particular order)
So… here’s the thing. I couldn’t decide which genre I wanted to do more, and when I took a twitter poll it was split right down the middle. BUT I’m going to do my top 10 Dystopian. Â Maybe I’ll revisit this list for Contemporary later!Â
This list could easily have become a list titled “Jaime’s boyfriends” but I’m going to try not to do that 🙂Â

This list could easily have become a list titled “Jaime’s boyfriends” but I’m going to try not to do that 🙂Â
1. Four – Divergent/Insurgent by Veronica Roth – I know he will be on many lists, but I adore him.  He’s the perfect combination of kick-ass and sweet.  His determination to survive and his vulnerability  … I love it.
2. Â Wren – Reboot by Amy Tintera – I know that this book isn’t exactly out yet, but I had the opportunity to read it and I love this girl. Â It’s rare that you have a female character who’s portrayed as so incredibly strong, and she definitely is. Â
3.  Day – Legend by Marie Lu –  “When I look to my side, I see a boy holding out his hand to me. He has bright blue eyes, dirt on his face and a beat-up old cap on, and at this moment, I think he might be the most beautiful boy I’ve ever seen.” and omg every time he says ‘yeah’. I love him in these books. Â
4. Â Connor & Risa – Unwind by Neal Shusterman – I loved this book. The world that Neal created and the characters … I still think of this book and cringe a bit. Both Connor and Risa were wonderfully written. Â
5. Â Warner – Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi – I love Warner. I won’t deny it or lie. He’s not the person that I thought he was in Shatter Me and I can’t wait for book 3.
6. Â Adam – Shatter Me/Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi – I included Warner so I have to include Adam. I adore him. I love how much he loves Juliette and every single part of Unravel Me had me wanting to pull him to me and hug him. Â
7. Â Liam and Ruby – The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken – Ruby’s determination and Liam’s confidence and the way he welcomed Ruby make them some of my favorites. Â
8. Â Althea – Whispers in Autumn by Trisha Leigh – I love love love strong girls and Althea is such an incredible one. Â If you haven’t started this series, the last book is out today and you need to get on this.Â
9. Â Perry & Roar – Under the Never Sky & Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi – I love these guys. Best fictional bromance ever.Â
10. Â Chase – Article 5/Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons – CHASE – oh my lord this boy – I love him and getting the opportunity to see a bit more from his pov in the outtakes that Kristen provided on her blog only endeared him even more.Â
4. Â Connor & Risa – Unwind by Neal Shusterman – I loved this book. The world that Neal created and the characters … I still think of this book and cringe a bit. Both Connor and Risa were wonderfully written. Â
