Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
This week the topic is Top Ten Most Intimidating Books. Â For a variety of different reasons, these are the books we have put off reading… it could be size, hype, number of books in a series… Â
This book came with a glossary and several maps. Â I appreciate all of this and in an normal situation, I would find this extra helpful but I cracked it open after being on a plane for 11 hours and had to make the decision to hold off. Â I will start this…soon. Â I just couldn’t do it when I originally planned to.
This book has received rave reviews from everyone. Â The reason I am intimidated by this book is that everyone has talked about how many tears were shed while reading this. Â I do a lot of my reading while on a plane or traveling so the thing that worries me is being a crying mess in front of others. Â Because of this, I have put off reading this book but it will happen.
These books make the list only because they are series books. Â I have heard great things about all but I have so many books to read that I worry about starting another series. Â
The Argeneau series has 19 books so far…I have no idea if there will be more but my mind can’t wrap itself around the fact that if I start this, there will be 19 books to read. Â That is really what is making me hold off.
I’ve had this series on my to read list for a while and I think the thing that is making me hold off on this one is the subject matter. Â All of the reviews I have scanned have given this high marks but I feel like I need to prepare myself for this one.Â
This book is another of those that everyone I know loves. Â I have also heard from quite a few of them that it takes a bit to get into this one so I have made the conscious decision to not read this series yet. Â It will happen eventually because there is so much love out there for this series and I need to know what it is all about but I can’t make myself start it yet.
I’ve been sitting on this series FOR. EVER. I have them on my bookshelf because I’ve heard how amazing they are… but they are also kinda long and I’m afraid I won’t love them and so then I don’t pick them up when I’m looking for something.
I loved loved loved Graffiti Moon – which means I love Cath Crowley. I want to keep that love and so even though I have this and I open it look at the words, I haven’t actually read this book.  I want to… I do.Â
So… tell us in the comments … What books intimidate you? Are there books you want to read but haven’t for some reason? Â Did we miss some good ones?Â
